Del 14 de octubre al 4 de diciembre de 2013 se celebra en Barcelona el XXV Curso de Derecho Sanitario, organizado por Cultura Icab. La Dra. María Casado, directora del Observatori de Bioètica i Dret y del Máster en Bioética y Derecho de la Universitat de Barcelona, participa con la conferencia "Drets de la persona en el procés final de la vida".

El día 26 de septiembre 2013 se celebra un Seminario organizado por la Facultad de Derecho de la Universitat de Barcelona y el Centre for Information and Innovation Law de la Universidad de Copenhagen. Las Dras. Itziar de Lecuona y Mónica Navarro, miembros del Observatori de Bioètica i Dret, participan con las conferencias "Research activity at the Faculty of Law of the Universitat de Barcelona" y "Research on the ethical, legal and social aspects of biobanks at the Bioethics and Law Observatory-UNESCO Chair in Bioethics at the UB" respectivamente.

Los días 27 y 28 de octubre 2011 se celebra, en Brasilia, el I Encuentro del Consejo Federal de Medicina (CFM) y el Observatori de Bioètica i Dret UB, con el tema "El cuidar de las personas mayores: una cuestión de salud pública", organizado por la Ibero-American Network International Association of Bioethics (IAB).

El día 18 de noviembre 2011 se celebran las VI Jornades CEAS (Comitès d'Ètica Assistencial de Catalunya) "Compartint Valors", en el Hospital Vall d'Hebrón, Barcelona, España. Con la participación del Dr. Lluis Cabré como moderador de mesa de comunicaciones; y de la Dra. Itziar de Lecuona con el tema "Recursos per a la formació en principis bioètics i drets humans per als CEA: iniciatives del Programa de Bioètica de la UNESCO". Los días 21 y 22 de noviembre 2011 se celebra el I Congreso de Bioética "Aspectos éticos en la investigación y en la práctica clínica", Madrid, España. Con la participación de la Dra. Itziar de Lecuona con el tema "Los Comités de Ética en Investigación Biomédica: panorama normativo y estado de la cuestión". International Conference on Gender and Bioethics organized jointly by UNESCO, Kazan State Medical University and the government of Kazan, from 21 to 22 November 2011 in Kazan, Russian Federation.

The Conference on gender and bioethics, organized jointly by UNESCO and the local authorities in Kazan, Russian Federation, will present an opportunity to highlight the link between gender and bioethics, enhancing the intrinsic relationship between both domains and raising awareness of the importance of the gender perspective in scientific and social development. Due to its high profile and association with UNESCO, the Conference will serve as a starting point for further debate in the region on the promotion of bioethical principles aiming to achieve gender equality.

The participants in the Conference will confront a fundamental question: How do aspects of social identity, like gender, ethnicity and social status, influence the way people see the world – and what does it mean for their relations with science and technology?

Some of the topics that will be addressed are: gender and global issues (climate change, migration); gender and public policies (reproductive health, research and violence). Among the speakers will be feminist bioethicists, from a wide range of disciplines and expertise, bioethics UNESCO Chair holders as well as local and regional experts. An entire session will be devoted particularly to the national and local issues, challenges, and solutions relating to gender and Bioethics.

The Conference is open for free participation to the general public. Participants are welcome from all fields of study, especially from law, medicine, philosophy, ethics, or social sciences, as well as from outside the academia – the practitioners and the advocates for bioethics and human rights.

The working languages of the conference will be English and Russian. Interpretation will be provided in both languages.

Persons who want to register should submit a registration form to Ms Dafna Feinholz, Chief of Bioethics Section of UNESCO (d.feinholz@unesco.org), as early as possible. This form is also available on the dedicated UNESCO web site.

El día 23 de noviembre 2011, a las 19:00 hrs, se celebra la Conferencia "Dopaje Genético, mejoramiento físico y la ética del deporte", por el Dr. Jose Luis Pérez Triviño, Prof. titular de Filosofía del Derecho de la Universitat Pompeu Fabra.
