Bioethics and Law Association

Concerning Masters at the University of Barcelona, the Association of Bioethics and Law (ABD in Spanish) has been established as an association with a legal personality and ability to act at will and which includes all those who are holders of the official diploma of the Master in Bioethics and Law or those who have taught in the University of Barcelona’s Master in Bioethics and Law and who have a particular interest in issues related to the problems of theory and practice in health and biotechnology.

The Association of Bioethics and Law aims to encourage the promotion and divulgation of studies related to an integrating overall view of bioethics and the legal implications, through the activities carried out from a secular, plural and multidisciplinary viewpoint. This enables one to make rational decisions linked to problems that arise with each scientific and technological breakthrough. Furthermore another of its aims is to contribute to clarifying the debate around the basic programmes in the framework of bioethics, health and biotechnology. It also aims to defend the interests of the Association’s members.
