"Violence and community mistrust hamper Ebola response"

The Lancet Infectious Diseases

The current outbreak of Ebola virus disease in the Democratic Republic of Congo was declared on Aug 1, and has been centred in North Kivu province on the border of Uganda and Rwanda. According to the latest figures from WHO, there have been 124 confirmed and 35 probable deaths caused by the disease, out of 212 confirmed and 35 probable cases. It is the tenth outbreak in the country since 1976.
